EXHIBITION

AT SAINT LAURENT RIVE DROITE LOS ANGELES

Calendar

Saint Laurent Rive Droite presents a selection of paintings by Jason Mason, curated by Anthony Vaccarello, from July 10th to September 3rd 2025.

Jason Mason is a self-taught American artist known for his acrylic paintings depicting irony of banal objects typically set against scenic beauty. Born in Texas, Jason moved to Los Angeles, California as a child where he spent much of his time drawing. As an adult, he began directing his focus to graphic design and creating storyboards. During this time, Mason became one of only two assistants to artist Ed Ruscha in the late 90s. Ruscha passed on the tools and confidence necessary for him to confront his own artistic expression.

Jason Mason's work is akin to magic realism in the way he depicts objects, such as bent nails scratching the surface, intoxicating lipsticks, sky high palm trees, or even waves that encompass you. All reminiscent elements of Los Angeles and Hollywood, they provide valuable sources of context to the artist's vision.

Shifting from his ironic works of nature and mankind's influence upon it, his recent artwork focuses on the positive vibration of Los Angeles' natural beauty and its iconic symbolism. These compositions, enhanced by stylized realism, highlight the form and utility of these objects. His paintings and technique draw you into this world with a creative imagery that's unique only to Los Angeles.

Jason Mason is represented by Kantor Gallery LA. The works will be available for sale.
