SAINT LAURENT BABYLONE presents ADORATION, a selection of paintings by Louise Sartor, curated by Anthony Vaccarello, on view from December 10 to January 11.
Louise Sartor is a French artist known for her miniature works. Her art invites you to come closer, to enter an intimate and fragile world immortalized through gouache on equally fragile mediums: cardboard packaging, torn newspaper pages, etc.
The motifs are inspired by photographs depicting everyday scenes where her quasi-hyperrealistic style draws on influences from art history.
The artist mixes images from the media, social networks, and the private sphere. In doing so, she reveals the porosity of the current boundaries between private and public life. Sartor’s work essentially questions today’s mythologies, whereby the simplest behaviors are in fact structured by complex socio-cultural codes, positioning her art as both a political statement and an aesthetic iteration.
Louise Sartor has presented multiple exhibitions at Crèvecœur in Paris and at Le Consortium, Dijon, La Società Delle Api, Monaco and Art Basel Hong Kong, Miami, Paris and Basel.
All exhibited artworks at SAINT LAURENT BABYLONE will be available for sale.
