Lucie Cherqui is a Parisian photographer, director, and costume designer, best known for her portrait work, through which she challenges preconceptions of sexuality, queerness, and gender norms.
Cherqui’s style is characterized by saturated colors and an inherent lightheartedness that she seeks to impart on the world. Full of humor and surprise, her work reappropriates codified visual imagery, encouraging us to rethink societal expectations. Lucie Cherqui’s photography envisions a world in which rigid social gender constructs are abandoned and replaced by unconstrained self-expression.
