From April 1st, SAINT LAURENT BABYLONE is pleased to present a selection of photographs by Neil Faveris-Essadi, curated by Anthony Vaccarello.
Neil Faveris-Essadi, a Paris‑based French photographer born in 2005, develops a practice situated at the intersection of image, music, and contemporary urban culture within an environment shaped by creativity, nightlife, and collective energy. Embedded within his generation, he approaches photography as an act of closeness rather than observation. His work emerges from his immediate circle — friendships, celebrations, film sets, late nights — without theatrical staging or analytical distance. Memory operates as the driving force behind his practice: an impulse to capture what might otherwise fade. His visual language, rooted in Parisian youth and nocturnal energy, avoids overt narration or symbolic construction.
He began photographing his surroundings at the age of fifteen and has maintained a constant, almost instinctive relationship with the camera ever since. As he describes it, his images are “the result of someone who rarely goes home.” His work explores the fine line between what is permitted and what lies beyond it, navigating the space between order and disruption.
The apparent simplicity of his compositions conceals a refined sense of balance and timing, allowing immediacy to remain intact while sustaining a strong visual presence. His signature lies in spontaneous, sensitive, almost discreet images — an approach he describes as “looking at the wrong place at the right time.”
All exhibited artworks at SAINT LAURENT BABYLONE in Paris will be available for sale. The 22nd edition of the Rive Droite fanzine dedicated to his work is offered for free in stores, along with a special limited edition of one hundred numbered copies signed by the artist, available for purchase.
